Overview
You care about your people as much as your projects. But most industry events teaches the technical craft. This one is different.
I'm hosting a small, intentional dinner for engineering leaders like you.
Rama will share how he led a team through crisis and build team culture on a multi-billion dollar project.

Is This For You
This evening is for you if you're a mid-level or senior engineering leader who:

  • Wants to learn from a veteran leader and his leadership journey so you don't have to struggle on your own
  • Has delivered projects and knows exactly what that costs
  • Cares about your people, not just technical excellence and progress

What You'll Leave With

  • A real account of how one leader held a team together when a multi-billion dollar project was in crisis
  • Learn how to repair a broken team culture and build your own
  • Connect with a room of leaders who understand the weight you're carrying, without you having to explain it
  • At least one conversation or question you can bring back to your own team this week

About Rama

Rama Venkta, a Civil Engineering graduate from the National University of Singapore, holds an MSc in Civil Engineering and is a post-graduate gold medalist specializing in geotechnical engineering.

In close to 35-year career, he managed significant infrastructure projects for Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA), including major MRT lines, the North-South Corridor, and the Singapore Railway Testing Centre. His role extended to investigating construction incidents, such as the Nicholl Highway collapse in 2004. He also worked as Director Cost Control for LTA IFD Cluster from 2014 to 2016. He took on the role as Managing Director of SG HSR Pte Ltd in 2017, overseeing cross-border high-speed rail project with Malaysia.

After the suspension of the HSR project, he returned to LTA in 2019 as Group Director (GDNSC) to lead the 21.5km $13 billion North-South Corridor project. In 2023, he transitioned to the private sector and took up the role as Managing Director (Civil Infrastructure) of GRC Limited / CES_SDC Pte Ltd.

Rama’s accolades include the Public Administration Medal (Silver) under MOT, Outstanding Project Manager Award by Society of Project Manager, and past positions with the Society of Construction Law. He is currently appointed as the advisor for Tunnelling & Underground Construction Society of Singapore (TUCSS).

About Annabelle

I've spent 18 years delivering large scale transport infrastructure projects in Singapore, such as Downtown Line, Cross Island Line. Thomson-East Coast Line, Changi Terminal 5. Trained as a civil and structures engineer, became a project manager, and currently leading the Civil Engineering team in Arup.

Somewhere along the way I noticed the part of the job I actually loved wasn't the technical problem. It was getting a large group of people to align around one vision and deliver it together. That part is hard, and It's also the part that pulled me in. I've spent years leading teams, learning what works and what doesn't the hard way.

Now I'm building Lead with Purpose, a community for engineering leaders who care about their people as much as their projects.
Because most engineering societies in this industry are built around the technical work, which is important, but not the whole story. Somebody needs to keep the people leadership conversation alive too. That's what I'm here to do.
